Nillumbik remembers Black Saturday
A time of rememberance, reflection and
hope
The recent anniversary of Black Saturday brought many locals, families and friends together to join the communities of Nillumbik at Rememberance events throughout the shire. Events were held at Panton Hill, St Andrews and in various venues and locations around Nillumbik to commemorate all those who lost lives, homes, pets and livelihoods.
The communities look ahead with optimism and and thank all those who so generously supported and helped them in the last twelve months.

The Tree Project
Over the past twelve months the Tree Project has been a remarkable collaborative venture which has brought blacksmiths together from around the world. The result is an Australian gumtree made of stainless steel and copper which has been created for those who lost their lives in the Victorian bushfires, to honour those who fought the fires and to stand as a symbol of regeneration for the fire affected communities.
